George Seurat/George: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Male, 25-40. Act 1: An artist obsessed with his work at the cost of his personal life. Act 2: Seurat’s burnt-out descendant and inventor sculpture searching for his purpose; tenor, Ab4-G#2. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity.

Fabulous singer, & dancer with flexible vocal register to play a variety of roles (Frankie’s teenage daughter, the many girlfriends of The Four Seasons, etc); should fit well together a la 60s band Shangri-las and be believable as ‘tough-as-nails’ Jersey girls; very comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies and has a very strong high belt. MISERY

Paul: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Male, 50-59. To understudy: Paul, a successful novelist; and Buster, the local sheriff; a guys' guy. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity.

THE GRADUATE

Benjamin Braddock: Lead, Male, 20-30. Once the ideal student and son, and now a recent college graduate, he keeps hearing he has his whole life ahead of him; disillusioned with the idea that everything he’s worked for is without meaning or purpose, he desperately seeks a future that is different from the “American Dream” he grew up in; this is a largely dramatic role with biting, understated, dry humor. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity.

Elaine Robinson: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Lead, Female, 19-29. Daughter of Mrs. and Mr. Robinson; her bright, seemingly naive and optimistic charm casts a stark contrast to Benjamin’s somber tone; she wishes to lead a normal and responsible life despite her emotionally fragile disposition caused by the long-past-deteriorated marriage between her parents and destructive nature of her mother. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity.

Mrs. Robinson: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Lead, Female, 42-59 Seductive, manipulative, sexy, and destructive; she finds an emotionally vulnerable Benjamin and manipulates and seduces him into an affair; she does not seem to have any other interest or concern for Benjamin until the notion of him dating her daughter reaches her; note: this role has full-frontal nudity written into the plot, and director will choose how to handle this based on casting response. If you wish to be considered for this role, include your comfort level with the following options: full nudity, topless nudity, silhouetted nudity, and implied nudity. You will not be ruled out of casting based on your response. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity. Requires Nudity: No. Must be comfortable appearing partially dressed.

Mr. Robinson: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Supporting, Male, 41-60. Mrs. Robinson’s husband, Elaine’s father, and long-time business partner of Mr. Braddock; considers Benjamin the son he never had, and is as equally proud of him as Mr. Braddock; wants Benjamin to take a romantic interest in Elaine to solidify the business relationship and friendship between the two families; both comedic and dramatic chops needed. Ethnicity: All Ethnicities.

Mr. Braddock & Others: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Supporting, Male, 42-60. Benjamin’s father and long-time business partner of Mr. Robinson; immensely proud of his wealth and family, he has big dreams and aspirations for Ben; he tries to support and understand his son despite his bizarre behavior, only to push Ben further away; has both comedic and dramatic chops. Also Hotel Clerk, Psychiatrist, Strip Club Patron, Priest. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity.

Mrs. Braddock & Others: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Supporting, Female, 42-59. Benjamin’s mother; almost entirely out-of-the-loop, she desperately tries to understand her son, often by asking the most direct and awkward questions; this is a largely comedic role. Also Stripper: Burlesque experience a huge plus; comfortable performing in pasties and lingerie. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity.

Two Musicians: THESE ROLES ARE PRE-CAST. Supporting, Any Gender, Any Age. The onstage musicians follow Benjamin throughout the play.

RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA

Ella: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Lead, Female, 20-29. Though no one notices her beneath her rags and quiet demeanor, she is opinionated, charismatic, passionate, beautiful and funny, idealistic and hopeful, she courageously challenges the prince to change the policies in his kingdom and helps him discover who he truly is, always her late father’s daughter, she is determined to see the good in everyone despite her hardships and suffering, we see her blossom into a confident woman, beautiful and expressive traditional musical theatre soprano, an elegant dancer with strong partnering skills and great comedic timing. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity.

Topher: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Lead, Male, 20-35. A misguided and lost prince who longs to do something important with his life, though brave and heroic, he feels lonely and unfulfilled, charming but not a stereotypical ladies man, he is thoughtful, appealing and innocent with an unforced goofy streak, moral, genuine and kindhearted, he is at a crossroads and must take control of his kingdom and his future, has strong dance and partnering skills and great comedic timing, soaring, rich musical theatre baritone to G. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity.

Madame: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Supporting, Female, 45-69. Ella’s selfish stepmother, the epitome of vanity and fashion, a ravenous social climber who values wealth, status, and material possessions above all else, unapologetically dismissive and sometimes cruel, Madame schemes her way up the social ladder, has incredible comic timing, traditional musical theatre character voice. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity.

Sebastian: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Supporting, Male, 40-69. The kingdom’s Lord Chancellor, though he is Topher’s trusted advisor, he is devious and selfish, using propaganda and dishonesty, he keeps Topher isolated and in the dark about his kingdom, rules without regard for the lower class, or anyone other than himself and truly believes he deserves to rule the kingdom, has incredible comic timing, traditional musical theatre character voice. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity.

Marie: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Supporting, Female, 40-69. A friend to Ella and the town’s resident crazy lady and beggar woman, is actually a fairy godmother in disguise, wise, warm, otherworldly and charming, rewards Ella for her kindness by making her dreams a possibility, glorious and expressive traditional musical theatre soprano to a G. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity.

Gabrielle: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Supporting, Female, 20-39. Ella’s stepsister and daughter of Madame, encouraged by her mother and sister to value material wealth and social status, she unenthusiastically joins them in their abrasive behavior, quietly passionate, empathetic, and witty, she is drawn to Ella and Jean-Michel, ironically aware that she doesn’t fit in,has great comic timing, strong and expressive traditional musical theatre voice. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity.

Jean-Michel: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Supporting, Male, 20-39. A feisty, passionate peasant determined to make a change for the starving class, impetuous, a firebrand, but lacks authority and isn’t taken seriously as a revolutionary, has a crush on Gabrielle, though their courtship is forbidden because they are from different social classes, interested in all physical types–he could be scrawny, chubby, short, tall, etc., has great comic timing, traditional musical theatre voice, understands musical phrasing and has an attractive, compelling sound. Charlotte: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Supporting, Female, 30-39. Ella’s stepsister and daughter of Madame, brash, self-centered, materialistic, snooty, loud, sassy, and bratty, has a ridiculously high, but unfounded opinion of herself, never passes up an opportunity to be the center of attention, has great comic timing, strong and expressive traditional musical theatre character belt to an F. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity.

Lord Pinkelton: THIS ROLE IS PRE-CAST. Supporting, Male, 30-59. The Lord Chancellor’s right-hand man, announces royal balls, banquets and even the weather to the villagers, has great comic timing, traditional musical theatre tenor to an A with power, understudies Sebastian. Ethnicity: Any ethnicity.
