---

This version of PIPPIN is outside of the box of mere naughtiness. Set amongst an eclectic band of multicultural actors and led by a “Leading Player”, Pippin tries to find the meaning of life and his own place in the world.

---

Seeking a MULTICULTURAL cast of 10-14 performers to play various roles/parts. All must be strong actors and singers who dance or move well, with high energy and the ability to be creative on stage (improv, audience interaction, etc). All cast members except THEO must be 18 years of age or older.

Note: Production will include partial male (topless only) nudity and revealing costumes. No nudity at auditions. Not everyone needs to participate, but most of the MALE cast should be willing to appear topless and MALE/FEMALE cast willing to wear revealing costumes. Female cast members will NOT appear nude in any scenes. “Revealing” costumes are nothing worse than you would see on the beach on the Jersey shore. This is a dark, sexy version of Pippin.

All roles/chorus positions are available unless otherwise specified:

Charles: Male, Bass-Baritone, 40-65, Supporting. Ruler of the Holy Roman Empire.
Pippin’s father. “A giant on the battlefield, AND in the bedroom.”

Theo: Male, 8-15, Non-musical, Cameo. A not so cute problem child or teen. Cross between Gothic and Toddlers with Tiaras.

Berthe: Female, Alto, 40-75. Supporting. Saucy, sexy grandma who has seen better physical days but still has what it takes.

Catherine: Female, Mezzo, 24-34, Supporting. VERY attractive but plain girl. Single mother of Theo and Pippin’s love-interest. Young enough but a little past her prime to land a Pippin.

Ensemble: Male and Female (3 Male +3 Female). Strong singers and dancers to play soldiers, beggars, nobles, peasants.

---

The following roles/positions are cast. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary.

Leading Player: CAST. Male, Bari-Tenor, 30-50, Lead. VERY Strong singer and actor. Must be a VERY strong solo dancer.

Pippin: CAST. Male, Tenor, 18-30, Lead, Strong actor and singer who moves well. Handsome and fit with boyish qualities.

Fastrada: CAST. Female, Mezzo, 40-50, Great dancer. Supporting. Charles’ Queen. A Royal Cougar or QILF if you will. Sexy, conniving and A Real Housewive of the Kingdom. Must be a strong dancer.

Lewis: CAST. Male, Non-Singing, 18-25, Supporting/Ensemble. Pippin’s half-brother, VERY fit and extremely flamboyant when he opens his mouth.

---

ReVision Theatre’s statement: “Persons of all races and ethnicities are strongly encouraged to audition. We have always used and look-forward to using non-traditional casting.”

Theatre is 3 blocks from the beach in a hip, fun emerging city just 1 hour from NYC. NJ Transit Station in Asbury Park is within walking distance (4 blocks) to rehearsal/performance space.

If unable to attend auditions, send headshot/resume ASAP to Casting@ReVisionTheatre.org or ReVision Theatre Casting, PO Box 973, Asbury Park, NJ 07712.
