SEEKING

Equity actors for Male-presenting chorus dancer parts in the touring production of MAMMA MIA! (see breakdown).

to audition. The breakdown below refers to the characters as they are written in the Mamma Mia! script and are not meant to limit the actors we are looking to cast in the roles.

PREPARATION

Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in, and sneakers or another comfortable flat dance shoe. In case you are asked to sing, please bring 16-bars of a contemporary pop/rock song (no musical theatre) and your book. Please do not sing from the show. Bring a stapled together headshot and resume.

Holding/Audition room information:

The audition room can accommodate no more than 35 dancers at a time.

The holding room can accommodate no more than 100 individuals at a time.

The Songs Of The Pop Group ABBA Provide The Score For This Romantic Comedy That Contrasts The Dreams And Desires Of A Young Woman About To Become A Bride With Those Of Her Mother, A Free Spirit Of The 70s Who Never Married. “Mamma Mia!” Takes Place At A Taverna On A Greek Island. The Cast Should Be Quirky And Offbeat; We Are Not Seeking Obvious Musical Theater Performers. Actors Who Sing With A Strong Rock Sound And Move Well Work Best In This Show.

SEEKING:

Seeking strong dancers (Early 20s) with a contemporary look who sing well. Some featured ensemble roles have dance specialties for which Russian split jumps and acrobatics are a plus.

ALI (18-25) Black, Indigenous, API, Latine, MENASA, Mixed, or White. Sophie’s friend. Impulsive and fun. Sings and dances well. Featured ensemble role.

LISA (18-25) Black, Indigenous, API, Latine, MENASA, Mixed, or White. Sophie’s friend who arrives to be a bridesmaid. Very energetic and kooky. Sings and dances well. Featured ensemble role.

PEPPER (early to mid-20s) Black, Indigenous, API, Latine, MENASA, Mixed, or White. Sky’s friend. Helps run the hotel. Charming, loves women, always flirting. A good mover/dancer, able to do Russian split jumps. Acrobatic skills a plus. Baritone/tenor. Featured ensemble role.

EDDIE (early to mid-20s) Black, Indigenous, API, Latine, MENASA, Mixed, or White. Another friend of Sky’s and hotel worker. Laid-back, easygoing. A good mover/dancer. Baritone/tenor. Featured ensemble role.

DYNAMO UNDERSTUDIES (30’s) Characters with great pop voices, comedic skills and strong movement abilities to be in the ensemble and understudy the Dynamos (DONNA, ROSIE, TANYA). Ensemble roles.

DAD UNDERSTUDIES (30’s) Characters with great pop voices, comedic skills and strong movement abilities to be in the ensemble and understudy the Dads (SAM, BILL, HARRY.) Ensemble roles.

ENSEMBLE (early to mid-20s) Young and energetic contemporary singer/dancers. May understudy the principal roles of SOPHIE and SKY, and/or the featured ensemble roles of ALI, LISA, PEPPER, and EDDIE. Also seeking offstage swings.
