SEEKING
MALE Dancer/Singers/Special Talents: (MUST BE ABLE TO PLAY Caribbean Characters, such as Taino, African, and Spanish) Seeking Individuals -- People who do not blend into a crowd, but stand out on their own, including Diverse Body Types. Must be well versed in Contemporary, Afro-Caribbean Dance, Casino (Cuban Salsa), and/or able to improvise and communicate physical storytelling through original choreography; Dancers and Specialty Talent Members of the Ensemble -- singers, dancers, players of musical instruments, unique performing skills, etc. --perform THE POEM, including Narrators, Bloodhounds, Wind, Ocean, Motherless Child, Taino Warriors, Spanish Soldiers, Horses, Guards, Gunfire, Hooves, Yaya, Itiba Cahubaba, and other Spirits. In the club they are the wait staff, patrons, musicians, floor show dancers etc. Please Note: All Talents will be Danced First, and Sung before being asked to show their Specialty Talents.
PREPARATION
Please be warmed up and ready to dance when the call begins. First combination will be danced barefoot, or in socks. Please also bring character or dancing shoes, as you may or may not be asked to stay for Partnering.
Additionally, you may or may not be asked to return to sing. Please prepare 16 Bars of Legit Music Theater or Classical; as well as one alternative selection in case asked. Latin/Spanish music encouraged. Bring sheet music in the correct key; accompanist is provided, but may not transpose. Please bring a picture & resume, stapled back-to-back
