Equity actors for various roles in the upcoming season.

Preparation
Please prepare two contrasting monologues, totaling no more than 2 minutes.

Please bring TWO (2) headshots w/ resumes.

Other Dates
Appointments will be given for 5/10 first. If filled, then appointments will be scheduled for 5/11. If all slots on the 10th are not taken, then the 11th will be cancelled

QUEENS FOR A YEAR
World Premiere
by TD Mitchell
Director: Lucie Tiberghien.
First rehearsal: 8/9/16 Opening: 9/16/16 Closing: 10/2/2016

Seeking:

2nd LT MOLLY SOLINAS :
Age 22. Half Hispanic black, half Scots Irish American. Young Marine Corps Officer, idealistic, determined to do her best and fulfill her oath. Super smart, committed, protective of her subordinates, good student with a great career ahead of her. Passionately loves her family.

PFC AMANDA LEWIS :
Age 20. Small town trailer trash that joined up to kick ass and find family stability in the Marines. Fakes toughness well most times, but suffering from PTSD and still being victimized by a predator. Vulnerable, on edge. Denying her early pregnancy, a product of assault while she was serving.

MAE WALKER :
Age 41. Black sheep of her family for turning to her Christian faith and becoming a midwife rather than joining the military. Had served in the Peace Corps. Estranged from her mother. Terrified for her daughter, who joined the Marines against her wishes.

GUNNY MOLLY WALKER :
Age 65. Of hearty Scots-Irish stock, retired from the Marines. Runs a helluva tight ship, applying military discipline at home. Chip on her shoulder for being an invisible Vietnam veteran. Designates what’s a family secret, demands loyalty. Naturally tough, without having to say a word.

LUCY WALKER :
Age 36. Served in Operation Desert Storm until “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” got her kicked out of the Marines. Trying like hell to get back in, staying super-fit and learning Arabic. Takes great care of her grandma. Gooey, mooshy heart.

LUCY “GRANDMA LU” MACGREGOR :
Age 85. Ornery great-grandmother, former WW2 Marine, self-designated historian and sometimes pontificator. Does not suffer fools, calls a spade a spade. NOT patrician or elegant, but matriarch that owns her power. Excellent comic timing and fair mobility/stamina.

FEMALE DRILL INSTRUCTOR VOICE:
Excellent facility with accents/dialects, strong skills for physically differentiating characters without benefit of significant change in costume, hair or makeup.
- IRAQI WOMAN: 40’s Caught in a culture clash and language barrier at a checkpoint. Frightened.
- CAPTAIN DIAZ (FEMALE): early 30’s (Latina) Career Marine Corps, gung-ho, natural leader.
- JAG OFFICER (FEMALE): mid 30’s-mid 40’s Career military. Killer in the courtroom.

OFFICER TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (MALE):
Excellent facility with accents/dialects, strong skills for physically differentiating characters without benefit of significant change in costume, hair or makeup.
30s-40 Smart teacher, military intellectual.
- MALE MARINE VOICES 1, 2 & 3
- STAFF SERGEANT (MALE): mid 20’s Quietly menacing, effortlessly scary.
- UNSEEN MILITARY POLICE VOICE (MALE)
