BREAKDOWN

KATE:
Female. Any ethnicity. 30’s. Smart, warm and empathic. Feels stuck and adrift in her own life. Thinks of herself as sensible and practical, but there’s a romantic side to her as well. An enthusiast. She yearns to be a part of something that will have an impact on the world and throws herself wholeheartedly into each job or project she undertakes. Possesses a strong backbone.

JAAP:
Male. Any ethnicity. 40’s. Dutch, AND SPEAKS ENGLISH WITH A DUTCH ACCENT. Handsome, intense, charismatic, extremely charming. Sexy, magnetic and left of center. Deeply passionate about his art and his film, and his excitement is easily contagious. Possesses a frank and straightforward sense of humor. A unique spirit, visionary, impulsive. He’s the kind of guy who easily attracts and is more than happy to benefit from the kindness of strangers.

LANCE:
Male. African American. 20’s. A film student. Modern and trying to figure out his place in the world of now. In some ways smart beyond his years, in other ways more of a kid because he has led a sheltered life. Thoughtful, sensitive and observant, with a slightly nerdy sense of humor. A native New Yorker who comes from a wealthy background and the privilege that money brings.
