Breakdown
FILM CHINOIS A noir spy thriller
The place: Peking, China. The year: 1947, an uneasy time between WWII and
the Communist takeover two years later. Randolph, a fresh-faced American
operative, has been sent to the Raymond Chandler-esque Imperial City with an
important mission where he meets CHINADOLL, a staunch Maoist. A cat-and-mouse game is complicated by the Belgian Ambassador and his current flame, the willful Simone, who appears only interested in getting transit papers to leave the country.

RANDOLPH
Caucasian male, early 30s. All- American operative from Nebraska; . smart, cool, collected, but in many ways, an innocent abroad. (William Holden type)
AMBASSADOR
Caucasian male age 50s-60, from Belgium. Amoral and dryly funny, he is a steadfast admirer of Asian women. (Orson Welles type)
SIMONE
Asian female, age 20s, a Chinese songstress with a few tricks up her sleeve. Willful, emotional and a little silly.
