Seeking:

ACTOR 1.
Danny, 20TH CENTURY BLUES. Caucasian Female 60’s. Attractive, great sense of humor, with an artist’s energy and wild strain. She is an intelligent woman layered with urban angst and a dose of self-doubt. Divorced. She has a grown son. She is an accomplished, well known photographer at a crucial turning point in her life.

ACTOR 2.
Sil, 20TH CENTURY BLUES. Caucasian Female 60’s. An attractive real estate agent. Separated from her husband. She works her ass off to keep current and to keep afloat.

ACTOR 3.
Mac, 20TH CENTURY BLUES and Kamshu, THE WEDDING GIFT:
Kamshu: Black Female 50’s/early 60’s. Attractive. Nahlis’ mother. A force to be reckoned with, she basically steamrolls everybody else into doing her will. Enormous sense of entitlement. She’s had fertility issues. The actor has to speak the invented/fictitious language in a heightened state of emotion. Mac: Black Female 60’s. A high level journalist. She is witty, smart, opinionated and intelligent. Lives with her female partner.

ACTOR 4.
Gabby, 20TH CENTURY BLUES. Caucasian Female 60’s. A dedicated veterinarian running her own practice. She lives in Boston with her one and only husband. She is a true friend. She doesn’t do well with conflict, and wants everyone to be “okay.” She is a warm and caring woman.

ACTOR 5.
Bess, 20TH CENTURY BLUES. Caucasian Female… plays 90yrs old. Danny’s mother. In no way is she a generic “old” woman. She is modern and very loving, with former talents of her own, though she is now in the early stages of dementia.

ACTOR 6.
Simon, 20TH CENTURY BLUES and Doug, THE WEDDING GIFT:
Simon: Caucasian Male 30’s. Danny’s son. He works for a progressive cable/internet news program. He is close with his mother and grandmother. He is an intelligent and caring man. / Doug: Caucasian Male 30’s, preferably white. Handsome. Fit. A man’s man. Could change a tire in his sleep. Now he is a dad and all he wants to do is get back home to his daughter. This role requires brief nudity.

ACTOR 7.
Charles Boyd, pen/man/ship and Torosh, THE WEDDING GIFT:
Charles Boyd: Black Male 50’s. A land surveyor. He is controlling, religious, vulnerable and stubborn. He drinks. / Torosh: Male 50’s. African American. He is handsome, fit and tall. Nahlis’ father. A most agreeable guy. When he feels, he feels deeply. The actor speaks in the invented/fictitious language in a heightened state of emotion.

ACTOR 8.
Jacob Boyd, pen/man/ship and Beshrum, THE WEDDING GIFT:
Jacob Boyd: Black Male 20’s. Charles’s son and Assistant. He is intelligent, handsome and endlessly devoted. He yearns to break free. / Beshrum: Male 20’s-30’s African American. Nahlis’ new husband. Preferably tall. Nice to look at but he is socially inept, self- absorbed and hyper-sensitive. He feels like he has to prove himself to everyone all the time. The actor speaks in the invented/fictitious language.

ACTOR 9.
Ruby, pen/man/ship and Nahlis, THE WEDDING GIFT:
Ruby: Black Female early 20’s. Jacob’s companion. She is an intelligent, strong, determined woman. She is outspoken and opinionated. / Nahlis: Female early 20’s. African American. Attractive and preferably tall. She is royal and used to getting her own way. She can be petulant, but also surprisingly compassionate.

ACTOR 10.
Cecil, pen/man/ship and Attendant, THE WEDDING GIFT:
Cecil: Black Male 30’s-40’. A shipmate and companion to Charles. He refers to himself as unattractive. It’s an internal belief rather than an external fact. He plays the accordion. / Attendant: requires movement skills and speaks the invented/fictitious language.

ACTOR 11.
Woman, NOT MEDEA: Female 35-40. She is a pediatric nurse. She is charismatic, fierce and funny. She can work the crowd. She has a deep reservoir of fury and rage and massive vulnerability. All ethnicities strongly encouraged to submit.

ACTOR 12.
Jason, NOT MEDEA: Male 30-40. An actor/self-loving. He is ambitious and open. He is physically irresistible and strong…a rock star with classical language skills. All ethnicities strongly encouraged to submit.

ACTOR 13.
Chorus, NOT MEDEA. Female early 20’s. A young girl from another time. Just. Innocent. Untarnished. Pure. She is attentive, an acute listener, petite and childlike. All ethnicities strongly encouraged to submit.

ACTOR 14.
Onjah, THE WEDDING GIFT. Female 40’s, black or mixed race. She is a High Priestess with a secret history with the Royal family. She is strong and compassionate and intelligent. She speaks English and the invented/fictitious language.

ACTOR 15.
Bridget O Sullivan, THE SECOND GIRL. Caucasian Female mid to late 30’s. Irish immigrant cook. She is proud and passionate. She can be fiery, hot-headed and could be beautiful. She drinks. This role requires an authentic Irish accent.

ACTOR 16.
Cathleen O Leary, THE SECOND GIRL. Caucasian Female early 20’s. She is a recent immigrant. She is spirited and passionate…an ingratiating Irish charmer, complete with volubility and forthright dark humor. She is a proud, ambitious and confident young woman. This role requires an authentic Irish accent.

ACTOR 17.
Jack Smythe, THE SECOND GIRL. Caucasian Male 40’s. An American. He is a handsome man with a face that has a lived in look. He is aware of his own shortcomings as well as his virtues He has a strong personality.
