2 PM – Equity Male Singers New York, NY
Prepare a brief Broadway standard. Show vocal range and bring sheet music. Accompanist will be provided. Also, bring your instrument with you and be prepared to play no more than 20 seconds.
Please bring 2 pictures/resumes, stapled together. Resume should include a cell or service number
Seeking Performers who can act, sing, AND play a musical instrument.
Dance is minimal in this production.
All Actors MUST have an updated U.S. Passport and all appropriate paperwork to travel outside of the U.S.
AUDITION NOTE: All must be able to sing, act and play a musical instrument. The following list of musical instruments are acceptable for this production. If you play one of the instruments below - with the exception of the Stand-up Bass, Drums and Piano - please bring it with you to the audition. A stand-up bass, piano and drum set will be provided at the audition.

Maria Elena Holly
Preferably under 25 of a Hispanic-American heritage. A classy and educated female character with the ability to sing. Must be able to play a musical instrument.
Vi Petty
Preferably under 40. The wife of Norman Petty with a heart of gold. Must be able to sing and act and play the keyboards. Must also have a good sense of humor. Ability to play an additional instrument (other than keyboards) is preferred.
Hipockets Duncan
Under 40. Must be a strong actor with the ability to sing and play a musical instrument. Character is an exuberant hometown radio DJ from Lubbock, Texas with an air of authority and a keen sense of humor.
Norman Petty
Under 40. Must be a strong actor with the ability to sing and play a musical instrument. Character is a record producer from Clovis, New Mexico, with a businesslike manner and a love of making records.
Apollo Performer
6 ft tall or over. Male of African-American heritage with the ability to hold the stage on his own. His key song is “Shout”. Must have good comedic timing and be able to act. Must be able to play a musical instrument. The ability to play the Saxophone is preferred.
Apollo Performer
Female of African-American heritage with the ability to hold the stage on her own. Must have good comedic timing and the ability to act. Her key song is “Shout”. Must be able to play a musical instrument.
Female Ensemble Member
Preferably under 30. Must be able to act, sing and play a musical instrument.
3 Male Ensemble Members
Preferably under 35. Must be able to act, sing and play a musical instrument.
One Female Swing
Must be able to sing and have the ability to play a multitude of roles and musical instruments.
