Shakespeare Royal Oak Announces Registration For Summer Educational Programs

Shakespeare Royal Oak is proud to announce that registration is now open for its 17th year of outdoor summer educational programming in Royal Oak's Starr Jaycee Park.

Water Works Teen Ensemble welcomes teens entering grades 9-12 to design, direct and perform a full production of Shakespeare's A Mid Summer Night's Dream on the Shakespeare Royal Oak outdoor stage in Starr Jaycee Park. Teens interested in the program's acting track must audition on Saturday, June 23 from 1-4pm at Starr Presbyterian Church at the corner of 13 Mile & Crooks Roads in Royal Oak. Additional audition times may be available by appointment. Teens interested in the program's stage & theatre management do not need to audition, but must register. Registration and audition appointments are now available. Registration for Water Works Teen Ensembleis $300 per student.

For students entering grades 1-8, Shakespeare Royal Oak offers KidsACT July 30 - August 4. This six-day learning experience offers instruction in Shakespeare, stage combat, dance, and comedic improvisation from highly qualified, professional teaching artists. Students then perform in an hour-long showcase to be presented for friends and family in Starr Jaycee Park. Registration is $250 per student.

Shakespeare Royal Oak

In addition to its educational programs, for its 18th season Shakespeare Royal Oak will present Much Ado About Nothing July 26 - August 5 and the World Premiere of The Comedy of Terrible Errors by Don Zolidis as its Daylight Family Show July 28 - August 4.

Since 2001 Water Works Theatre Company has presented Shakespeare Royal Oak and other award-winning productions.
