Shadows & Secrets at Vintage Theatre

Shadows & Secrets by Nancy Wang is a staged, multi-media whodunit radio play based on a dossier of historical facts, newspaper clippings, and memories of Wang's grandfather Chin F. Foin, whose death in mob-era Chicago — a plunge down the elevator shaft of his own restaurant — was ruled an accident, though suspicious circumstances abound. Set in 1924 amid Prohibition, tong wars, and a Chicago rainstorm, the play follows Foin's granddaughter as she attempts to solve the cold case of the famous restaurateur of the Mandarin Inn. The cast includes Caroline Kim, Kevin Chung, Alston Phu, Tim Inthavong, Kim Egan, Jeffrey Dallet, and Brandon Phelps. The show is directed by Jennifer So and runs 75 minutes with no intermission.
