Live shows with CADENCE are always a hit. They feature a hypnotic blend of complex harmonies, intricate arrangements, vocal dexterity, and just plain fun. On-stage antics and audience participation are par for the course at any CADENCE show, but so too is a mesmerizing display of musical genius.

Based in Toronto, a cappella ensemble, CADENCE, has been wowing audiences across the country and around the world for nearly 20 years. Whether performing at sold-out jazz clubs and concert halls, at music festivals or for corporate events and conference entertainment, the members of Cadence bring an infectious energy and uncanny verve to every song they sing. Their melodies unfurl into a performance of something both familiar and fresh, ranging from classic songs by Joni Mitchell or Louis Prima, old bebop standards or cheeky arrangement of a 1980s hit. But these are arrangements like you've never heard them before -- containing all the richness of a full band, but performed using just four voices.

The group's four critically acclaimed studio albums, Cool Yule (2011), Speak Easy (2010), Twenty for One (2005), and Frost Free (2000) have won or been nominated for numerous awards, including three nods from the JUNO Awards and 10 from CARA, the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards.

ABOUT KETTERING FAIRMONT'S ELEVENTH HOUR

Eleventh Hour began as an experiment - a plan to create an octet of singers who would meet after school once a week for an hour, rehearsing light-but-challenging choral music. Example: The King's Singers or Disney's Voices of Liberty. At the audition, there were eleven singers competing for eight positions. It was so difficult to choose among them that at the last minute everyone was accepted, and thus Eleventh Hour was born.

Since its inception, Eleventh Hour has performed all over Dayton including Holidays in the Heartlands and The Grand Illumination. Last year, they were Regional Finalists in the National Competition of High School a cappella, winning awards for Best Solo, Best Vocal Percussion, Best Arrangement, and Outstanding Performance. Performance highlights include sharing the stage with Kenny Loggins, LeAnn Rimes, The Beach Boys, and internationally-renowned a cappella group m-pact.

This year sees the release of their third studio recording, Evolution. Eleventh Hour is directed by Brody McDonald, Director of Choirs for Kettering Fairmont High School.
