Wings School of Dance

Wings School of Dance is a private dance school in the Scotts Village Shopping Center on Mount Hermon Road in Scotts Valley, California, with two studios featuring full mirrors, wall-mounted barres and sprung floors. Owner Wendy Phillips teaches to the National Dance Education Organization's Professional Teaching Standards for Dance Arts, and the school is an NDEO member. Ballet follows the Cecchetti method with attention to natural turnout and safe range-of-motion work; jazz covers traditional, Broadway and contemporary styles; and tap focuses on footwork, musicality and rhythm. Provision runs from Toddler Time for ages 2-3 and Creative Dance for ages 3-5 through combination ballet/tap/jazz for ages 5-7 and levelled group classes from age 7 in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical and hip hop, leading to an annual recital. There is also a dance company, four-day themed summer camps from age 2.5, and a complimentary first trial class. Class sizes are limited, with waitlists.
