About this studio
Ventura County Ballet is a 501(c)(3) non-profit ballet organization founded in 1998 and based at 505 Poli St. in Ventura, California. It presents full-scale professional dance performances across Ventura County, bringing together national and international guest artists with pre-professional local dancers in classical, neoclassical and contemporary repertoire. Its best-known production is an annual Nutcracker, presented for 28 years and staged with the Opera San Luis Obispo Grand Orchestra playing live, alongside story ballets such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The organization runs school outreach, community partnerships, scholarships and free-ticket programs, and has offered sensory-friendly performances. Formal training for its dancers takes place at its official school, Ballet Academy Ventura.
