The Studio A Dance & Performing Arts Center LLC

The Studio: A Dance & Performing Arts Center operates from 140 Point Judith Road, Unit 36 at Mariner Square in Narragansett, Rhode Island. Its program is aimed mainly at teenagers and adults rather than young children. Ballet is offered at three levels: a teen/adult beginner class taught in the classical tradition for people starting out or returning after a break, an adult intermediate class for those continuing technique work, and an adult intermediate/advanced class that includes pointe for students who wish to take it. Tap is taught from beginner level with no prerequisite, using barre work, across-the-floor and center work, and guest teacher Brian Jones runs E-Z, intermediate and advanced tap workshops and drop-in classes. Cathy Blaney teaches a Teen Broadway jazz/tap combo in periodic six-to-eight-week sessions, and a mixed-level classical jazz class follows Matt Mattox technique with influences from Luigi and Lynn Simonson. Ballet Prestige instructors alternate teaching some morning ballet classes.
