About this studio
The Dance Element is a dance studio at 7211 Ogden Business Lane, Suite 205, Wilmington, North Carolina, offering dance classes and instruction for children and adults. Class groupings run by age, beginning at ages 3 to 5 and continuing through ages 6-8, 9-12, teens and adults, and the studio also runs an all-boys hip hop and dance program led by male teachers. Teaching emphasises correct French terminology, age-appropriate exercises and a foundation of proper technique, delivered in a deliberately non-competitive, supportive classroom setting. The studio is home to Element Productions Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit performance company offering pre-professional training in classical ballet and contemporary dance, and it hosts guest artists and master classes. Full-length staged productions frequently adapt well-known children's literature. Fall classes begin 14 September, and a first class is offered free.
