About this studio
Sky High Dance is one of several after-school enrichment programs run by Sky High Enrichment, based at 8300 Tampa Avenue in Northridge, California. Rather than operating as a walk-in studio, the company sends certified instructors into schools to run classes for children in kindergarten through sixth grade, and it has been doing so for more than a decade alongside its chess, origami and cartooning programs. The dance program teaches creative movement and hip hop, covering the fundamentals of rhythm and counting beats, stage direction, movement progressions and creating and interpreting choreography, with each course building towards a routine. Courses run for six to twelve weeks and end with a showcase on the final day where students perform for parents and instructors, with prizes and a program T-shirt for participants. Online dance classes are also offered.
