About this studio
Core Dance, formerly Several Dancers Core, is a contemporary dance organization based in Decatur, Georgia. It creates, performs and produces original dance intended to ignite the creative spirit and draw the community into participation and conversation, describing its values as purposeful artistic risk taking, regenerative collaboration, knowledge sharing and enquiry in service of an empathic approach to social change. Its repertory centers on works by founding artistic director Sue Schroeder, spanning earthworks, museum environments, theatrical works, site-specific pieces and films, and it commissions and presents guest artists as well as hosting convenings.
