Savannah Ballet School of Dance

Savannah Ballet Theatre and School operates from 115 Charlotte Road in Savannah, Georgia. The school was founded by Sue Braddy in 1988 and teaches ballet, tap, jazz and contemporary to students from age 3 through adults, with classes led by certified instructors; students travel from across southeast Georgia and South Carolina to attend. Alumni have gone on to the Garrison School for the Performing Arts and Savannah Arts Academy as dance majors, to the Gelsey Kirkland Academy in New York and the Kirov Academy in Washington DC, and several have earned places in the Georgia Governor's Honors Program. The affiliated Savannah Ballet Theatre, established in 1998 under Braddy's artistic direction, is a non-profit and the only professional ballet company in southeast Georgia, known for original works such as The Little Mermaid, The Wizard of Oz, Sleepy Hollow and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe alongside Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and an annual Nutcracker.
