Gretchen Greene School of Dance (GGSOD) is a family-owned dance school at 1007 Bryan Woods Loop on Whitemarsh Island, Savannah, Georgia, open since 1969. Founder Gretchen Greene (now Gretchen Dodd) opened the studio in her hometown after finishing a run as a Radio City Music Hall Rockette in New York, and now runs it with her grown children Trina and Travis; Travis is a Dance Masters of America certified teacher. Classes are organized by age and grade, from Almost 3s and preschool through kindergarten, 1st-2nd, 3rd-5th, middle school and high school groups to adults, plus a Company Dancers program. Styles include ballet with pointe for experienced students, tap, jazz, hip hop, acrobatics and musical theatre with acting and group singing. The dance year runs from August/September to May and ends in a recital split into several short shows, with recital costumes and fees included in tuition; summer camps are offered between seasons.
