About this studio
Sarasota Contemporary Dance (SCD) is a professional contemporary dance company and school at 1400 Boulevard of the Arts, Suite 300, Sarasota, Florida, now in its 21st season. Alongside main-stage productions, an in-studio series and community performances, it runs open studio classes for ages 14 and up on a drop-in, class-card or unlimited-monthly basis. Offerings span Afro-Fusion and Afro-Modern, adult tap, adult ballet flow, character dance drawn from European folk forms, beginner and advanced hip hop, contemporary and contemporary jazz, and an open company class with professional dancers. Community work includes kids' classes, K-12 education, physically integrated inclusive dance, Dance for All with live drumming, and the SCD Ensemble.
