Open Dance Project Inc.

Open Dance Project (ODP) is an ensemble-driven dance theatre company in Houston, Texas, known for boundary-breaking immersive productions and for its education programming. Its stated purpose is to develop and present world-class dance theatre experiences in Houston while acting as a cultural resource through engaging education and community work, and it builds programming that breaks down barriers to the arts through practical access and inclusion efforts and through social-justice driven content in its immersive and all-ages performances. Repertory has included immersive works and family-audience pieces such as Bonnie and Clyde, Flutter, Panopticon, 1968 and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the last presented as part of the Hobby Center's Discovery Series. Schools work includes Project Imagine Dance with Houston ISD, the virtual Project Pivot, workshops, residencies and school performances, and the company runs ODP2, a youth ensemble, along with a Young Choreographers Project.
