About this studio
Nutmeg Performing Arts Center is a family-oriented dance studio on Church Street in Bristol, Connecticut, founded in 1998 by Tammy Pettinicchi Gaynor and since 2021 owned by alumna Libby Blauvelt, the second former student to take it over. It offers recreational and competitive classes from 18 months to 18 years plus adult classes, aiming at professional instruction in a supportive setting that builds dedication, teamwork and discipline. Youngest levels include a You & Me creative movement class for ages 1.5 to 2.5 with a parent, Tiny Stars, and Baby I'm a Star ballet, tap and acro combos with a twirl program. Older students take ballet, jazz, tap, acro, hip hop and musical theatre; voice lessons are new. The Supreme Team competes, and a June recital closes the year.
