About this studio
New England Dance Center (NEDC), branded "The Remix", opened on October 2, 2013 under owner and director Nikki Baris, who previously founded and directed Girls Inc. Dance Center on Lincoln Street from 1992 to 2002 and co-founded NE Dance Center Inc. from 2002 to 2013. The studio has relocated to 21-69 Main Street in Cherry Valley, Massachusetts, serving the Worcester area. Weekday classes are open to boys and girls aged 18 months and up across multiple levels, with recreational tracks alongside a full-level competitive schedule for members of the Traveling Team. Combination classes such as Tap & Jazz and Funk & Jump are among the most popular choices, and registration runs in three-month sessions. Free trial classes are offered to prospective team members, and students perform in a June recital. Its choreographers and students have won regional and national awards, and alumni have gone on to professional dance, teaching and performing careers.
