Mrs. Rosemary's Dance Studio operates from 5 New Dorp Plaza on Staten Island, New York, and is run by Ms. Luanne, Ms. Doreen and Ms. Roe, who continue the teaching standards set by the studio's late founder, Mrs. Rosemary. Classes last 50 minutes and are separated by age and level, with beginner groups for ages 3-5, 6-9, 10-14, beginner teens and beginner adults. The syllabus covers classical ballet technique and pointe, jazz (including contemporary jazz, funk, musical theatre and lyrical), modern/lyrical, tap, hip hop from age 4, Irish stepdancing, a Triple Threat musical theatre class combining singing, acting and dancing, seasonal Zumba fitness, and ballroom taught privately by an affiliated instructor. Combination tap-and-ballet classes introduce ages 3 to 9 to dance. A Festival Dance Troop performs at parades, festivals and community events, and June recitals are staged at the St. George Theatre. Registration is handled in person; the studio closes in July and August.
