About this studio
Lydia's School of Dance, now operating as BellaRu Dance Company, is celebrating 36 years and teaches at Snug Harbor Cultural Center, Building G, 1000 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, New York. The school's classes cover modern and contemporary, jazz, tap, ballet and pointe. Its BellaRu Dance Company offers performing opportunities for both competitive and non-competitive dancers, welcoming all levels from age 5 through the teen years. Company dancers have performed with the Richmond County Orchestra, at Wagner College football and basketball games, at Harlem Globetrotters games, at the Statue of Liberty, at a Six Flags event and at Disney World, as well as in the school's own December Winter Show and annual recital. The studio has also run guest workshops, including a jazz workshop with Radio City Rockette Ellen Mihalick, and takes part in community activities such as making Valentine bears for a local nursing home.
