Joy in Motion (JiM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dance organization based at 1545 School Street in Moraga, California, whose stated purpose is expanding access to dance through education and entertainment. Now marking ten years, it teaches dancers aged 3 and up, including children, teens, adults and seniors, in contemporary, tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, creative movement and theatrical dance styles. Adult offerings extend beyond technique classes to fitness formats such as Pilates, Twerk n' Tone and Cardio Jam. The organization runs a youth program, adult classes, hip hop crews and a teaching-assistant (TA) program, and stages an annual show with multiple casts. Private and group lessons and party rentals are also available. JiM serves the Lamorinda communities of Moraga, Lafayette and Orinda plus Concord, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Oakland, Berkeley, Piedmont, El Sobrante and Pinole. Registration is via Jackrabbit; the Fall 2026 term begins 17 August.
