About this studio
Joanne Langione Dance Center (JLDC) has taught in Newton, Massachusetts for over four decades and now marks 50 years, operating from Border Street in West Newton with a second location on Washington Street opened in 2025. Its main facility is a 10,000 square foot building with four studios. Classes cover ballet, hip hop, contemporary, jazz, tap, modern, acrodance and creative movement for ages 1 to 18, arranged as PlayDance for 6 months to 3 years, JL Kids for 3-6 and 7-10, and JL Teens for 11-18. Further programs include theDANCELAB, JL SummerDance and the pre-professional School for Excellence. The center competes and attends conventions, hosts its own UN.CONVENTION, and has been named Best of Boston for children's dance classes.
