Iowa Ballet Academy, at 3890 NW Urbandale Dr. in Urbandale, Iowa, has been open since 2009 and says it offers high-quality dance training with qualified professionals in a warm, caring atmosphere at a reasonable price, without gimmicks. All instructors hold a college education in dance and/or Dance Masters of America certification, and older students are not used as primary instructors. It was the first studio in central Iowa certified by the Youth Protection Association for Dance. The school has a Children's Division (creative movement 3-4, pre-ballet 4-5, kindercombo 5-6, Combo 1 6-7), an Open Division, a Pre-Professional Division and a Competition Team, with an annual concert. Graduates have joined Ballet Vero Beach, Joffrey Ballet School and Ballet West.
