About this studio
Des Moines DanzArts Studio, at 2150 Delavan Drive Suite 8 in West Des Moines, Iowa, is a deliberately non-competition studio training students in dance and theatre from toddlers through a full adult program. The school year runs as two 17-week semesters, and students keep their place from autumn into spring without re-registering. The progression starts with Creative Movement for 3-year-olds and Pre Ballet at 4, moves into combination classes adding tap at Level 1 (ages 5-6) and jazz at Level 2 (7-8), then opens up through Levels 3/4 and 5/6 with electives, pointe preparation, Progressing Ballet Technique, Foot Fundamentals and Circus Fit. Level 7/8 is shared with intermediate and advanced adult dancers aged roughly 15 and up. An optional recital is held at the end of the spring semester at Hoyt Sherman Place, and tuition falls as students take more classes.
