About this studio
Sun Bollywood & Beyond is a dance, recreation and entertainment company in the San Francisco Bay Area founded by artistic director and choreographer Sunita Raj, who is trained in Bollywood, semi-classical, Raas Garba, folk and modern styles. Its curriculum combines Indian dance forms with modern styles for students of all ages and skill levels, with regular classes for ages 3 through adults. Classes run at studios in Newark and Fremont, through Hayward Recreation and online, covering Bollywood, hip hop, Kathak and Bharatanatyam alongside fitness and other enrichment classes. Students perform twice a year, at the annual SunSational show and at the Winter Performance and Trophy Ceremony. The company also runs camps and workshops, rents costumes, and provides event choreography.
