About this studio
Aloha Studio is a Polynesian performing arts studio at City Center Bishop Ranch, 6000 Bollinger Canyon Road, San Ramon, California, in the East Bay. It is led by Kumu Catherine Kau'ilaniokalaua'e Harrill Kailimai and Karl Michael Ha'aheo Blankenship, and has taught Hawaiian and Tahitian dance and music in the area for more than 30 years with the aim of preserving and uplifting those cultures. The studio is the home of Na Hula 'O Moku'aina Kuhai Halau and Motu'aina Pupu 'Ori. Classes are divided into children's and teen/adult tracks, each covering hula (both kahiko and 'auana), Tahitian 'ori, and Hawaiian cultural classes such as lei making. Students perform at events including hula festivals, and the studio describes itself as award-winning. Enrollment for current students is handled through an online parent portal.
