About this studio
GUS, the original Gus Giordano Dance School, is a family-owned Chicago school at 5230 N Clark Street, founded in 1953 by jazz dance pioneer Gus Giordano and his wife Peg and now led by their daughter, executive director Amy Paul Giordano. It teaches students from age 2 through 19 in a graded season program beginning each August, plus adult drop-in classes, covering jazz, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, tap, modern, musical theatre and yoga. It runs a Tiny Tots camp for ages 2.5 to 5 and summer intensives in ballet, contemporary, hip hop, tap, musical theatre, choreography and pre-professional training. Performance opportunities include the auditioned GUS Company and Gus Legacy Company.
