About this studio
Small Fry Dance Club, launched in 2007, specializes exclusively in early-childhood dance education on the mid-Peninsula in San Mateo, California, near highways 92, 101 and 280. Classes are built for children from 18 months to about 5 years and introduce ballet, tap, jazz and musical theatre, with the stated aim of building confidence, coordination, independence, balance and listening skills rather than competition. Alongside its public studio, the club sends teachers into Bay Area preschools and childcare centers including The Carey School, Kids Connection Foster City, Happy Campers, Learning Links and LifeConnections KinderCare, pulling students from their classrooms for on-site lessons. New families are invited to a free trial class. Tuition is charged monthly, and dancers perform twice a year; the 2026 winter performance moves to the Aragon High School Theatre in San Mateo.
