Off Broadway Dance Studio

Off Broadway Dance Studio has taught in Uptown New Orleans since 1983 and operates from 8125 St. Charles Avenue. It is owned and artistically directed by Jeanne G. Pecot, a drama and dance graduate of St. Mary's Dominican College who also choreographs Little Lyric Theatre productions at Tulane, with Jeannette Pecot as Company Director and Suzanne P. Hirstius as Business Manager, both also teaching. The newly remodelled studio has sprung marley floors, wall-to-wall mirrors and a modern sound system. Eight styles are taught: ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, musical theatre, pointe and pre-pointe, and combo classes. Age groups run from Tiny Dancers at ages 2-3 through to teen and advanced classes for 13 and up, with beginner to advanced levels and Company and Pre-Company programs for dancers wanting a higher commitment. Performance opportunities run throughout the year. Registration for the 2026-27 season opened in July with classes starting 14 September.
