Dance Complex Inc

The Dance Complex is a non-profit dance center at 536 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, Massachusetts, running daily drop-in classes, workshops and festivals for all ages and levels across more than two dozen genres. It positions itself as open to everyone from recreational beginners to professionally focused dancers, and its class roster is delivered by independent teaching artists who manage their own registration and payment, with visitors needing a membership, day pass or guest pass to enter the building. A typical day's schedule includes beginner and advanced-intermediate modern and contemporary work drawing on Horton technique and somatic practice, levelled salsa partnering classes, beginner and intermediate house dance, and mat Pilates. Alongside adult classes the organization offers youth and teen classes, virtual classes, and artist-development programs including aMaSSiT and the BLOOM residency platform. It also rents its studios for rehearsals and workshops and presents a year-round series of performances and events such as the DIY Performance Series.
