About this studio
Contempo School of Dance is a school-year dance school in Lutz, Florida, running classes from autumn through spring with online registration and a published class schedule, dress code and studio policies. Alongside its recreational school-year program the studio fields the Contempo Dance Team, which competes at five regional competitions and one national competition each year in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop and contemporary. Team members are divided into mini teams for ages 5 to 10, junior teams for ages 10 to 13 and senior teams for teenagers, and dancers who meet level requirements may audition after attending Dance Team Camp in June. The team has performed at local festivals, Busch Gardens, Epcot and the Magic Kingdom, and in opening numbers for the Radio City Rockettes and the Harlem Globetrotters. The school stages an annual recital.
