CMDance (Community Minded Dance) is a Denver, Colorado non-profit founded in 1999 and marking 25 years, based at 6445 E Ohio Ave. It works to keep vintage dance alive through school programming and educational events, reaching more than 10,000 students a year across the Front Range with an emphasis on the six counties of the Greater Denver area. Programs are organized as Early Childhood, K-12 Education and Intercollegiate Dance, plus a youth performance team, guest-artist workshops with visiting instructors and musicians, and partnerships with the Evergreen Jazz Festival and Colorado Blues Society. Instructors use trauma-informed practices, and staff include a deafblind intervener fluent in ASL, teachers trained for students with special needs or limited mobility, and bilingual instructors. CMDance also hosts social dance events and festivals such as the Denver Jazz Festival, Lindy on the Rocks, Hot Jazz Jamboree and Shimmy Shakin' Blues parties, and takes bookings for weddings, corporate events and performances.
