About this studio
The Academy of Children's Theatre (ACT) is at 481 Windchime Place, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and was founded by owner Lynn M. Hamilton, who is also president and founder of the Academy of Community Theatre (ACT II). It teaches students from age 4 through high school, grouped as ages 4 to kindergarten, grades 1-3, grades 4-6, grades 6-8 and high school. Class options include acting, musical theatre, Broadway combo, dance for musical theatre, action dance, vocals with dance, vocal development, Shakespeare, improv and stage combat. Classes run after school or on Saturday mornings, with Friday afternoon sessions for homeschool families, and every student performs on stage in the end-of-semester Showcase. The academy runs autumn and winter semesters, spring break camps and weekly summer camps, and stages full productions such as Disney's The Lion King Kids with open auditions.
