New Dance Theatre Inc

Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, incorporated as New Dance Theatre Inc., was founded in Denver in 1970 and became a 501(c)(3) in 1974; it is based in the Five Points neighborhood at its Center for the Healing Arts. Over more than 50 years the organization has toured 40-plus countries, produced or commissioned over 100 original works, hosted 150+ national and international teachers in Denver, and served more than a million students through its education programs. Its work spans a professional Ensemble, Arts in Education and Arts in Wellness programs, theatre rentals, and the CPRD Academy. The Academy teaches all ages and levels, from beginners to pre-professional dancers, offering ballet, modern, jazz, West African, hip-hop, Horton technique and Zumba, plus youth programs and adult community classes open to everyone. A Training Track places committed students by evaluation and feeds the Junior Youth Ensemble (ages 8-13) and Youth Ensemble (ages 13-19), which perform across the Front Range. The International Summer Dance Institute runs summer programs for ages 3 and up, and scholarships are awarded on financial need. CPRD also partners with Metropolitan State University of Denver on a dance major.
