Chamberlain School of Performing Arts

Chamberlain School of Ballet, founded in 1977 by Kathy Chamberlain, is at 3003 W 15th Street, Plano, Texas, and has served north Texas for nearly 50 years as a pre-professional ballet school. It provides training across several techniques and disciplines in a creative, artistic atmosphere, with the aim of developing self-discipline, healthy bodies, confidence and an appreciation for the arts alongside extended performance opportunities. Students regularly win college scholarships and summer study places with elite ballet companies, and graduates have gone on to professional company and Broadway careers; founder Kathy Chamberlain is a former Ford Foundation Scholarship recipient at the School of American Ballet. Programs run from walking toddlers and young children through Ballet Foundations for ages 6-9, pre-professional levels for ages 10-19, and an adult and teen open program (14+) with year-round drop-in enrollment. Beyond ballet the school teaches tap, jazz, modern and contemporary, musical theatre dance and choreography, and runs the Chamberlain Creates choreography project. It is the official training academy of Chamberlain Ballet, a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose productions include an annual Nutcracker at the Eisemann Center with guest artists from ABT and NYCB. The season includes a spring recital in late April.
