Capistrano Academy of Dance Inc. is a family-owned studio at 31654 Rancho Viejo Road, Suites M/N, in San Juan Capistrano, California, which opened in 2004 and is now marking 20 years in South Orange County. It is deliberately intimate in scale and takes dancers from age two and a half through 18, with a Pre-School Academy for the youngest students and classes covering ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical and hip hop. Competition teams are split into Minis and Juniors and Teens and Seniors, and the studio auditions dancers for an annual Nutcracker alongside its recital. Its approach is to nurture the whole individual, emphasizing sound technique as the basis for artistic expression.
