Theatre Wesleyan has announced that tickets are now on sale for the Tennessee Williams masterpiece, The Glass Menagerie, which will open their 2025-2026 season. Performances will be presented at the Thad Smotherman Theatre at Texas Wesleyan University (1205 Binkley Street, 76105) from Thursday, October 2 through Sunday, October 12, 2025. Tickets can be purchased online at txwes.edu/theatretickets. A seminal memory play of the American theatre, The Glass Menagerie follows Amanda Wingfield (Ashley Spyker), a faded remnant of Southern gentility who now lives in a cramped St. Louis apartment with her aimless son, Tom (Trent Cole), and her debilitatingly shy daughter, Laura (Maddox Hawthorne). With their father absent and the Great Depression in motion, the siblings find comfort in their distractions - alcohol, movies and writing for Tom and a collection of glass animals for Laura. When a gentleman caller (Tristan Andrews) arrives for dinner, the Wingfield family is flooded with hope. But it’s uncertain if this mysterious visitor will change things for the better or shatter a family’s fragile illusions. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Broadway premiere of The Glass Menagerie, noted as Williams’ most personal work, which continues to captivate and overwhelm audiences around the world. PERFORMANCE INFORMATION Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased online at txwes.edu/theatretickets or by calling (817) 531-4211. Tickets will also be available at the door in-person beginning one hour before each performance. The production is recommended for ages 13 and up and has a runtime of approximately 2 hours, in addition to a 15-minute intermission. The Glass Menagerie is produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service and Broadway Licensing.
