The Drummer Boy is an original holiday theatrical production created by prominent Black leaders in the Dallas arts community, including Terrence Johnson, Jiles R King II, and William Allen. The story follows young August on his journey to join an HBCU drumline, as he learns about community and culture through the rich history of drumming. Combining dance, theater, and music, this production aims to deliver a unique and heartwarming experience for audiences, fostering collaboration among local artists. The show will premiere on December 13 and 14, 2024, at South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas, Texas.
