Allen Contemporary Theatre is delighted to announce its upcoming production of the hit musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, directed by Eddy Herring, running December 5–21. Performances are Friday/Saturday at 8 PM, Sundays at 3 PM, and two additional Thursday shows on December 11 & 18 at 8 PM. This Tony Award-winning musical comedy follows a quirky and passionate group of 'tweens as they compete for the top spelling title, while navigating the wild, awkward, and unexpectedly heartfelt world of growing up. Each speller brings their own brand of intensity and humor to the stage, guided (or not!) by a panel of adults who are barely holding it together themselves. Audience members may even find themselves becoming part of the action, adding to the show’s unpredictable energy!
