TACA's mission is to provide financial support and services and to increase public awareness and participation in the performing arts of North Texas, which improve the quality of life for citizens of all economic, social and ethnic backgrounds.  Since its inception in 1966, TACA has raised and distributed more than $15.3 million to 75 performing arts organizations.

On November 1, 2006, TACA Board of Governors, supporters and guests continued TACA's 40th anniversary celebration at a cocktail party to announce Linda Perryman Evans and Ruben E. Esquivel as the 2007 TACA Neiman Marcus Silver Cup Award honorees.  The Silver Cup is awarded each year to recognize one man and one woman for outstanding contributions to the arts in Dallas.

"The Silver Cup Awards is a time where we recognize two amazing volunteers who have given generously of their time, talent and resources to support the arts," said Rebecca Young, president and executive director of TACA.  "TACA is privileged to recognize this philanthropic spirit by honoring the contributions of Linda and Ruben."

Linda Perryman Evans is president and chief executive officer of The Meadows Foundation, one of the largest private philanthropies in the United States.  The Meadows Foundation has given extensive grants to arts organizations in the Dallas area, including The Dallas Opera and The Dallas Center for Performing Arts.

Ruben Esquivel is a charter member of The Dallas Center for the Performing Arts.  He chairs the Communications Committee and serves on The Winspear Opera House Facilities Committee.  He is chairman of The Dallas Opera and has also served as vice chairman of the Dallas Symphony Association.

Civic volunteer and arts advocate Annette Strauss founded the Silver Cup Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Arts in 1979.  Miss Evans and Mr. Esquivel will receive their Silver Cups on March 6, 2007, at the TACA Neiman Marcus Silver Cup Award Luncheon, to be held at the Hilton Anatole Hotel.
