Encore Players, Katy's only adult community theater group, proudly announces The cast of its fall musical Into the Woods. From schoolteachers and engineers to stay-at-home moms and college-bound teens, the cast is an eclectic mix of area residents with a talent for the stage. "We were thrilled to find so much local talent come out of the woodwork for this show," said Jill Manser, the show's director. "We've always known that Katy had a lot of people itching to get on stage, whether they've taken a hiatus from doing theater to raise a family or work on their career and now they have the time to get back into it, or they're up-and-coming talent that's just starting out." Cast members range from age 17 to over 50 and come from all walks of life. Encore Players invites everyone in the community to go Into the Woods with them this October.

Into the Woods brings some of the beloved Grimm Brothers stories to musical life with a fractured fairy tale twist that offers up what happens after "Happily Ever After". Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Book by James Lapine. Directed by Jill Manser. Music direction by Elizabeth Mace.

Performances are scheduled for October 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17 all at 8:00pm at the Katy Visual & Performing Arts Center (KVPAC) located at 2501 S Mason Rd., #290, Katy, TX 77450, in the Southwest Equestrian Center complex.
