KD College, a subsidiary of KD Studio, Imagination Players' presents The Wizard of Oz, the classic story of Dorothy, a young Kansas farm girl, and her adventures with the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion in the merry old land of Oz. However, audiences should not expect the traditional Wizard of Oz. "We all know The Wizard of Oz, " Says Director Terri Ferguson, "but we've updated it just a bit. Kansas is Kansas is Kansas, but Oz has moved a bit toward the east. Echoes of Tokyo and Animé creep in around the edges of our story."
The musical runs through May 8th. The KD Studio Theatre is located at 2600 Stemmons Frwy Ste 180 Dallas, TX 75207.The Wizard of Oz is an American classic. The Imagination Players production will use the Royal Shakespeare Company version of the script and score, which most closely follows the well-loved 1939 MGM movie. Everyone's favorite songs from the movie are here, including "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," "If I Only Had a Brain," and "We're Off to See the Wizard (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz)."
