Join us for an afternoon of captivating chamber music with members of Pacific Symphony at Samueli Theater. Experience the beauty of Reena Esmail's The Light is The Same, a stunning piece that blends cultures and sounds, described by The Washington Post as “the musical equivalent of translucent silk.” Enjoy Claude Debussy's dreamy Trio Sonata for Flute, Viola, and Harp, which creates a rich, impressionistic soundscape. The evening concludes with Messiaen's moving Quartet for the End of Time, composed during World War II, offering a profound reflection on eternity and hope. Relax in the cozy coffee-house atmosphere, sip coffee, and enjoy decadent desserts as pianist Orli Shaham, your host and curator, guides you through the connections between these influential works and their impact on chamber music.
