NEW this year! Oddfellows Playhouse Youth Theater announces Theater Summer Sessions for performers ages 6-14! Running from August 12-16th and 19-23rd, each week promises a whirlwind of excitement from 9am to 4pm daily. Participants will dive into the magical world of theater, honing their acting and stage movement skills under the guidance of instructors Dan Schmidt & Allegra Green.
Tuition for each 5 day session: $250 (includes snacks, supervised recreation, theater games and activities, with a focus on participation in rehearsals and performances.)
SESSION 1 (August 12th - 16th, 9 am - 4 pm) culminates in a mini- production of The Phantom Tollbooth at 6pm on Friday, August 16th: The Phantom Tollbooth follows the story of Milo, a young boy who embarks on an adventurous journey to save the once prosperous (but now troubled) Kingdom of Wisdom, rescue the Princesses Rhyme and Reason, and bring peace between two divided kings.
SESSION 2 (August 19th - 23rd, 9 am - 4 pm) culminates in a mini-production of Journey Back to Oz at 6pm on Friday, August 23rd: When the rightful heir to the throne of Oz goes missing, it’s up to our heroes to journey across the Deadly Desert, from the land of Ev to Oz and save the day! Based upon The Marvelous Land of Oz and Ozma of Oz by L. Frank Baum, Journey Back to Oz introduces us to new friends (Tik-Tok, Jack Pumpkinhead, the Wogglebug, the Nome King, Ozma, and more) and reunites us with familiar faces (the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, the Cowardly Lion, and Dorothy Gale herself.)
